We've spent a lot of time on the weekends lately on our backyard patio and deck project. And while we enjoy doing these projects and the kids don't mind them either, we do like to take a break from them from time to time and enjoy some fun time as a family. So last Saturday we planned a trip to Sioux Falls for a bike ride. We drove to Falls Park in Sioux Falls and started there. We followed the bike trail and ended up biking 16 miles altogether. Kaiden, who just recently learned to ride his bike without training wheels, did awesome! He had a lot of fun and only needed dad to pull him the last two miles. It also helped that we stopped a few times along the way at a few of the many parks along the trail.
While I don't have any pictures of us riding our bikes, I do have some of our pit-stops along the way. This is the first park we stopped at.
Kaiden is getting ready to try to jump up on top of this big ball...
He couldn't quite make it...
It's easier for grandpa to just lift him up.
I had to give it a try too, though I'll spare you the details (pictures) of me getting up on the giant ball. And my reward for getting up there: a super sweet hug from my little man.
Jada's turn. And notice the bad example in the background?
After the first stop, we biked another four miles and ended up at a pretty big, pretty sweet park.
There he goes again, wishing he could be a kid.
You know you're too big for the toy when you're whole body touches the ground.
Jada was pretty proud of herself that she climbed that high. Though you can't really tell from the picture, it's the first step off the ground. What a big girl!
Then we biked eight miles back to Falls Park and enjoyed the falls.
